Odd Grouping

But I had to use up the following odd mix: jalapeño peppers from the garden, chives from the garden, a lemon, and sour cream. . . And what popped into my head???

CATHEAD Sour Cream Cheddar Chive Biscuits (with jalapeños)

Surely, there was a recipe close to the Southern Comforts of such.

2.5 Cups Flour All purpose

1 Tbsp Baking powder

1/4 tsp Baking soda

1 tsp Salt

1/2 Cup Butter frozen

1 Cup Cheddar cheese grated

2 Tbsp Fresh chives chopped

3 Jalapeńo Peppers chopped

1 Cup Milk

2 tsp Lemon juice

1/2 cup Sour Cream

1 large Egg beaten

~ Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

~ Combine your milk and lemon juice and set aside.

~ In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

~Add the grated cheese, peppers, chives and stir to combine.

~ Next GRATE the frozen butter into the dry ingredients and then stir gently to combine.

~ Add the beaten egg to the sour cream and milk and then pour into the dry ingredients.

~ Stir gently JUST until mixture comes together. The dough will feel a bit wet and sticky. DO NOT OVERMIX!

~ Drop into large dollops so that all are touching.

~ Place into oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are golden.

Just ate one and sticking the rest in the freezer!
